Troubleshooting for Battery Replacement

phone battery

Here are common issues and how to resolve. Note: new batteries need to be calibrated and go through a few cycles before the newly installed battery is synced with the device. Typically after a few days, new battery issues resolve themselves. We recommend trying steps below and giving it a little time.

 Calibrate New Battery

Calibrate your new battery so your device iOS system will calculate the actual life correctly of your battery . This is important so your device doesn't just turn off and the iOS says incorrectly there is battery life or vice versa.

Charge it to 100% and keep charging it for a few hours.
Use your device until it shuts off due to low battery and battery below 10%.
Charge it uninterrupted to 100%.

  2. On your phone Settings > select battery

  4. Check background app activity> in setting go to General and Background App Refresh.

  6. To save battery life, you can either turn off background app and refresh all together

iPhone screen is black after replacing battery

The iPhone screen works, but the screen is black. The backlight is not working. When attaching the screen, you may have noticed a puff of smoke and smelled a burn odor.

To confirm that the backlight is no longer working, disconnect the battery, reconnect it, then plug in a USB lightning cable. Immediately shine a bright light on the center the screen and you should be able to see a faint apple logo. That will confirm that there is a problem. This can happen if the iPhone is not turned off or the battery is not disconnect before starting repair. With the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus, the device still receives power when the phone is powered off so you have to disconnect the battery as well.

To resolve, you will need to replace the Backlight or the complete LCD.
